Position Training

Many slave training programmes include an element in which the slave is taught to assume various bodily positions upon command. Positions are typically given short names (such as 'kneel') that correspond to very intricate specifications, covering not only overall posture (such as kneeling), but also precise positions of limbs and extremities (e.g. palms up, resting on thighs) and fine details such as eyes being cast down.

Many protocols require the slave to assume a given position in a specific context (e.g. kneeling when the Owner enters the room).

Gorean adherents have a well-developed system of formal slave positions.
